Movie Review - Over The Hedge (2006)
PG , 83 Minutes
When Verne and fellow woodland friends awake from winter's hibernation, they find they have some new neighbors: humans, and an opportunistic raccoon shows the others how to exploit the suburban bounty laid out before them.
Over The Hedge, what a mediocre puddle of piss. Now I know this movie has its share of fans, but I’m just not one of them. I shall now explain my disgusting analogy. This film is symbolized by a puddle of urine because the act of stepping into it is rather unpleasant, though there are worse things to step into. Once you remove yourself,
it only takes a few hours before all traces of it are gone except for a faint smell. It’s such a forgettable movie that I literally can’t write a fully review on the themes and story of it. It’s not the most abhorrent animated adventure I’ve set my eyes on, but there isn’t anything to talk about. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but at least I can have some fun writing about The Emoji Movie and completely tearing it apart with every ounce of passion in my body. This is just not the same. I’m definitely being harsh, and I didn’t have as bad a time watching this as I’m making it sound, but nothing pops as a good aspect. Even my three words are a jab at the studio since I can’t remember enough to quote this or make a short joke. Everything is so aggravatingly passable. There are three types of films, great ones, terrible ones, and mediocre ones. The final category is by far the least interesting, and unfortunately that is where this falls. I’ll totally get some comment about how the rating should be lower going by this review, but it shouldn’t. I’m angry that I wasted my time with something I can’t even bother to really review. We can finally get to some decent stuff tomorrow. Over The Hedge is a steaming pile of average that you won’t remember 20 minutes after watching.
