Happy #MemberMonday! This week get to know Ashley Clair, JLS Manager of Communications.
Ashley who was born and raised in Springfield, is the Communications Director for Leadership Springfield, and is the owner/photographer for Ashley Clair Photography.
She joined Junior League because she was very involved in her service sorority, Gamma Sigma Sigma, at MSU. “This helped me develop a passion for community service and being part of a group of like-minded women trying to make the community a better place. Junior League was the perfect fit to fill this void when I graduated college. My aunt is also a Sustainer and spoke very highly of the
organization.” She has been on the Communications Council since she was a Provisional, and has always enjoyed her time on it. “It's a great council to be on if you want to touch all the other councils in the League. They get in touch with the Communications Council throughout the League year for social media posts, press releases, the Link and various other communication needs.” Becoming Manager of Communications was a natural progression from being the PR/Marketing Chair as well.
Ashley loved her Provisional Year. “Going on the Know Your City tour and the socials with my new member group were some of my highlights during that year.” Other favorite moments include attending and volunteering at the Fall Home Tour. “I love that the Junior League is an organization where you can make a difference in your local community, and gain valuable training that will help you in your career, all while having fun with some really incredible, like-minded women.” In her free time, you can find her rock climbing at Zenith with her husband, grabbing a beer with friends at one of the many local breweries, and hanging out with her two Goldendoodles, Stella and Jack. •
