Pizza Buns 🍕 Easy to make pizza buns with tomato sauce and thyme. Enjoy 😃 . Recipe from @micadeli_ . . Follow us @vegfoodzfeed for daily recipes. . INGREDIENTS: •20g yeast •3/4 cup water •1/2 cup vegan yogurt •1/4 cup oil •1 1/2 teaspoon salt •200g durum flour •200g flour •1 1/2 cup tomato sauce •1 cup sun-dried tomatoes •200g vegan cheese . INSTRUCTIONS: Mix yeast, water, yogurt, oil and salt. Add the flour and mix very well together. Let the dough rest for 1 hour. Roll out the dough in 2 squares. Add tomato sauce, chopped sun-dried tomatoes and vegan cheese. Roll from bottom to top and cut into pizza buns. Place on a baking tray and let it rest for 40 mins. Instead of sweating the small stuff like supplements and nutrient timing, focus on what matters to help you progress and reach your goal. Energy balance - making sure you are consuming less than you burn. It’s naive for anyone to just say ‘be in a calorie deficit’ as it’s hard to know what that means or how to get there. Get yourself a nutritionist (me!), a good PT/coach who doesn’t just put you on 1200kcal a day or use an online calculator (@bencoomber or @jamessmithpt have free ones you can use) take it with a pinch of salt and have a play around to find your ‘sweet spot’ of losing fat but also not feeling depleted/low on energy. My tip: split your weekly calories up rather than focusing just on daily so you have more flexibility across the week! Adherence is key - once you’ve found your calories, actually adhering to it can be the most difficult part. Find ways that help YOU, whether it’s tracking, including your favourite snacks in mini versions, removing alcohol, not buying snacks - you need to find a way that works for you and means you will stick to it. It is a good idea to take a look at your activity levels - I don’t mean hammering the workouts daily, but just moving more. Less time sitting, more time standing and walking. You don’t need to exercise to lose fat, it makes it easier, but the power of walking is massively underrated. Macronutrients - protein is key when it comes to fat loss. Helping you to maintain/build muscle, keeping you feeling satiated, slightly higher thermic effect of food over the other macronutrients, some (not much) influence on energy balance I.e. protein uses the most calories for your body to process it. PALAK KHICHADI a fairly simple recipe😍😍 which I made it for my dinner last night dinner 🍽 . . . . . Ingredients : 1/2 cup rice. 3/4 cup moong dal 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 3-4 green chillies 3 tsp ghee and some extra for tempering. Salt for taste. 1 large finely chopped tomato 1 large finely chopped onion 3-4 garlic cloves 1/4 cup coriander 2 cups Palak 1/2 tsp coriander and cumin powder 1/2 tsp garam masala 1/2 tsp cumin and mustard seeds 2 dried red chillies. 2 cups Palak stock 2 tsp lemon juice Firstly rinse and soak dal and rice for half an hour. In a pressure cooker cook dal and rice with some salt and turmeric. Take around 4-5 whistles to make it mushy. Blanch Palak in salt water for 4 minutes and immediately transfer it to ice water. Now In a grinder make fine paste of blanched Palak, green chillies, salt, coriander and garlic. In a hot pan add 3 tsp of ghee, cumin and mustard seeds and let it pop. Now add onions and fry it until golden brown. Add tomatoes salt and turmeric. Cook it till the tomatoes turn soft. Once onions and tomatoes are soft add Palak purée, garam masala, cumin and coriander powder and Palak stock cover it and take a boil. Add cooked dal rice in the pan, now add lemon juice and give it a good mix, cook for about 2-3 minutes more. Once the khichdi is ready temper it with ghee, cumin seeds and dried red chilly.
