Thank you, Dolpa! You taught me to stay hopeful and persistent. It taught me to appreciate what I have, and question my privileges. <3
Dolpa is a remote mountainous district in Western Nepal. Bordering Tibet in the north, it covers around 5% of the total landmass of Nepal and is home to around 36,700 people (2011, approx. 5 people per square kilometer). It is home to the beautiful Shey Phoksundo Lake (the deepest lake of Nepal) and the majestic Shey Monastery. I took this picture in 2016 when Dolpa was not connected to a road network. It only got access to roads in 2018. The Government of Nepal is currently promoting Visit Nepal 2020. Considering the difficult terrains of the Nepali mountains, we could not have imagined about tourism without our porters. I wanted to take a moment to thank them and appreciate their work to help tourists live their dream of living in the mountains. (365 Day Post Processing Challenge, 2020 - Day 9)
P.S. Guess who was next?
