When we thought to write this post about the Island of Ischia and its history, we said: how do we tell the story, the beauty and the uniqueness of this Island? Just live it! 🙃
But for those of you who don’t know it yet, we tell you a little about its history. 🤓
Ischia has been alive since prehistory, but the Greeks have made it a precious destination thanks to the trade with the island of Elba (in present-day Tuscany) and its Etruscan inhabitants. ⛵️ The Romans, as usual, have discovered the therapeutic properties of its thermal waters, which is very rich! 💦
Time passes and invasions have always been more frequent over the years.
But the Aragonese, around 1400, has left a magnificent piece of history that can still be visited: Castello Aragonese. 😍
Of recent history, instead, it's the wonderful Gardens La Mortella, which were created around the 60s by the wife of the famous English composer Walton.🌴 In short, everyone has been conquered by the beauty of Ischia! And how to blame him! 😜
